Summary:I've read Mark Bradley's columns on John Rocker since the Sports Illustrated interview was published late last year. I'm continually amazed at how Bradley cherishes and applies his freedom of speech, but essentially wants to deny Rocker the same freedom. [Ray Lewis] was out for a night of party and drink. As happens with many sports stars, he has his own little group that includes the local suckups. In this instance, allegedly, the suckups killed two people and Lewis bugs out. Prosecutors immediately determine, "Let's show L.A. we know how to put 'em away." In today's jurisprudence, malicious prosecution is the name of the game. Bravo for the courageous county commission chairmen (Bill Byrne of Cobb, Mike Kenn of Fulton, and apparently others soon) who are refusing to allow the Georgia Regional Transportation Authority to force them to accept high-density development where it is not wanted. They are doing what Gov. Roy Barnes should do, but hasn't yet, which is to stand up to the federal government when it tries to go beyond environmental protection into costly social engineering.
