Summary:The recital, titled "Schubler, Scheidemann, [Samuel Scheidt] and Sweelinck: Bach and the Art of Intabulation," will feature the Bach compositions "Praeludium in C Minor," "Praeludium et Fuga in E Minor" and "Six Schubler Chorales." The pieces were originally written for voice, and will be demonstrated as such by Chorale tenor Wes Poole. The chamber music concert will be held Saturday at 8 p.m. in St. Matthew's Lutheran Church. There, violinist Lee Wilkins, a Bach Festival regular, and the Bach Festival Orchestra will present a night of works by composers with ties to Pennsylvania, among them Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, Antonin Dvorak, Edvard Grieg Ole Bull and a well-known Philadelphian better known for his nonmusical inventions -- Benjamin Franklin. The festival will come to a close Sunday at 3 p.m. with a choral concert at St. Matthew's Lutheran Church. The performance will feature three of Dr. Thomas' favorite Bach cantatas: "Bleib bei uns, denn es will Abend werden" (translation: "Stay with us, for night is falling"), "Aus tiefer Not" ("In deepest need") and "Gottes Zeit ist die allerbeste Zeit" ("God's time is the best time").
