Summary:An 8-year-old explosive-sniffing patrol dog trained in Europe, Sax is [Michael Krzywicki]'s pet at home and his partner at work. At home, Sax gently plays with Krzywicki's young daughter. On the streets, Sax is trained to attack on command. Initially, Krzywicki and Sax trained at an intensive six-week police K-9 school, becoming accredited with the North American Police Work Dog Association. These days, they continue to train daily, sometimes on Krzywicki's own time -- going for runs, performing agility drills, and introducing Sax to explosives to maintain his impeccable sense of smell. Krzywicki and Sax have been called upon at important events where the highest level of security is needed, most notably during the 2004 presidential election cycle when the candidates visited the region. They've worked hand in hand (and perhaps paw in paw) with the FBI and Secret Service and their K-9s. They are also called upon when danger possibly looms locally. When bomb threats are made, the buildings are evacuated, while Krzywicki and Sax rush inside to investigate.
