Summary:Dear Editor: Unless Gov. Thompson vetoes the "shared placement" initiative, most protections for children of divorce will end in September. The "shared placement" bill, previously known as SB107, eliminated the phrase "in the best interests of the child." Left in the bill and now called the "shared placement" amendment, the bill now mandates that a child's placement must be "equalized" or "maximized" with each parent.
