Summary: | The Quintons were honored for years of working with church and area youths. Once a month they organize a group of young people to prepare and serve pancakes to homeless people. [Ed] has served the church as youth counselor, Sunday school teacher and Bible study leader. He also coaches soccer and weightlifting for the Special Olympics. [Diana Quinton] has been a Bible study leader, chaired various committees within the church and works as mentor through Citizens for Community Values. She has held leadership positions in the UMW. Together they led a young adult Sunday school class for two years. Stanley Miller is the church's 2003 Unsung Hero and was honored last month along with recipients from other district churches during the McKendree District's annual laity celebration. Among the reasons for Miller's selection were his service to Reelfoot Rural Ministries and Habitat for Humanity, and his generous work in repairing items in the church office, nursery, gym, courtyard and Sunday school classes. |
