Summary: | Heintzelman Funeral Homes in Hellertown and Schnecksville have been online for several months. After much thought, planning and refining, David Heintzelman, who co-owns the homes with his father, Richard, and brother, Robert, hired Melanie Snyder of Hellertown to develop www.heintzelmanfh.com. The result, in Heintzelman's words, is "from my heart." "We no longer live in a nuclear society," says David, the youngest Heintzelman. "Families and friends are spread out all over the United States, and many times, they can't attend a funeral. It helps them because they can view online tributes at any time and find comfort when it's most needed. The whole idea surrounding memorial tributes is to help people who can't be at the service, and to celebrate the deceased's life. It's the best form of therapy." According to [Fred Fergerson], the week after the broadcast, he was mentioned three times in USA Today and also was on the paper's electronic site, with a link to connect directly to www.FergersonFuneralHome.com, leading to more than 6,000 hits in just one day, with browsers from more than 50 countries worldwide. Fergerson says the site receives an average 100-200 hits daily. |
