Summary:Unlike last weekend, when heavy rains north of the Allentown- Bethlehem-Easton area caused the Lehigh River to overflow, yesterday the river remained well within its banks despite nearly twice as much rain, said Jerry Duckett, Lehigh County Emergency Management director. The Little Lehigh and Cedar creeks went over their banks in spots, and the Jordan Creek at the Union Street bridge in Allentown reached 11.5 feet yesterday, six inches above flood-warning stage, Duckett said. In Monroe County, rescue teams unsuccessfully combed the banks of the Pocono and Brodhead creeks from Stroudsburg to the Delaware River at Delaware Water Gap after someone reported seeing what they thought was a body dressed in orange hunter's clothing going over the waterfall near the Broad Street bridge in Stroudsburg.
