Summary:[Billy Bragg], the Briton, will spend the next few weeks touring the country with blues singer Lester Chambers, Tom Morello of Rage Against the Machine and country-rocker Steve Earle. The tour - minus Earle until Tuesday - is called "Tell Us the Truth," and works to highlight the problems associated with large media corporations, fair trade and other issues. The rally and concert were also the final events in the first day of the National Conference on Media Reform, which has drawn more than 1,300 people to Madison for events through Sunday. The conference drew more interest after the FCC voted in June to relax media ownership rules. Many of the conference attendees fear that fewer media companies mean fewer diverse voices in the media.
