Summary:[Brian Blanchard] refused to discuss whether he's focusing on [Scott Jensen], a 41-year-old Drake- and Harvard-educated politician who in the past has expressed interest in running for governor. Jensen didn't respond to requests to be interviewed for this article, and he has refused to personally answer questions about the caucus scandal since it was first reported last May. Since then, Jensen has answered only a limited number of written questions about his involvement in campaign work. In flow charts obtained by the State Journal showing the Assembly Republican campaign organization, Scott Jensen appears at the top. He oversaw the Assembly Republican Caucus, which served as the secret headquarters for Republican Assembly campaigns. He heads the campaign arm of the caucus, the Republican Assembly Campaign Committee, or RACC, which provided the legitimate cover for the caucus' campaign activity. Indeed, in the memo, [Ray Carey] made no distinction between his taxpayer-funded job and the campaign work he did while caucus director. And he made it clear that Jensen was a key figure in the campaign effort, listing himself and Jensen under the heading, "COMMAND & CONTROL." Wrote Carey: "There was universal praise for Scott's field direction."
