Summary:Lawyers in Broward and Palm Beach counties gave high marks on Wednesday to defense attorney Johnnie Cochran's opening statement in the O.J. [Nicole] Simpson murder trial in Los Angeles. Some said that given the state's evidence of a trail of blood leading from the murder scene to Simpson's Bronco and his bedroom, Cochran did an effective job in neutralizing the force of those images in the jurors' minds. "His job was to take the sting away from the government's opening, and what he has done is forced the jury to listen {to all the evidence) and not make up their minds," Fort Lauderdale defense lawyer Bruce Zimet said.
