Summary: | Last week, "Celebration ADA '96" gathered state dignitaries, activists and community participants in the Capitol Courtyard in Tallahassee. The celebration was sponsored in part by the Florida Department of Labor and Employment Security to highlight the impact of the Americans With Disabilities Act and its importance in the lives of disabled citizens, especially Floridians. A variety of exhibits by organizations that represent or provide services for disabled Floridians handed out information and brochures to the public, and an exhibit by Very Special Arts of Florida showed that artistic ability need not be limited by a physical or mental disability. |
