Summary: | Logos believes that, through its Christ-centered learning environment, stressing character development and servant leadership, graduates can ultimately become the backbone of our city's workforce and leadership. Diverse in its ethnic and socioeconomic makeup, Logos promotes intercultural relationships while providing a superior academic program. Logos students have consistently scored above the national average on standardized reading and math tests when compared with all students, private and public. At the time of its founding 11 years ago, Logos Academy planted itself in the center of York and described itself as a community school. As one of the core values, a commitment to community defines the school's internal culture as well as its relationship to the city proper. Its influence is found everywhere, from student recruitment, to curriculum, to selection of community service projects, to parent relationships, and finally, to selecting a site and constructing a new school. With this commitment to community, Logos Academy is making a difference in York. |
