Summary:"It's been a great spring so far, and this new group we've got together is just amazing," [Bill Gaither] said in a phone interview from his Indiana office. "We've been very fortunate. I keep telling myself how lucky we are that the music still resonates with people." Though Gaither has performed with countless musicians since his career began in the 1960s, including his wife Gloria, the first version of the Gaither Vocal Band formed in 1981. Members have come, gone and returned since then, and the current lineup includes lead vocalist Michael English, baritone Mark Lowry and tenors Wes Hampton and David Phelps. Gaither sings bass. "It's a combination of the new and old stuff," Gaither said. "A lot of people really come out to hear our standards and would be upset if we didn't perform those, but we'll mix in some of the new CD, too." Though his band is the headliner, Gaither said a lot of great musicians will take the stage.
