Summary: | "I think there's definitely a need for these services in our county," said Ellen Weekes of the Office of Aging. "A lot of times people find themselves in that situation, but they still want to have some degree of independence. They don't want to feel like they're relying on family and friends to drive them everywhere. They want to feel like they can come and go as they please." RRTA offers two programs, both primarily funded by the Pennsylvania Lottery, to residents ages 65 and older: The Free Bus Ride program is available to residents who present the bus driver with a Medicare card or Transit ID card, which are available at RRTA centers at 47 N. Queen St. and 45 Erick Road. |
