Summary: | The film opens with Boone taking his group of misfits to training camp prior to the start of the fall semester. The white players were threatening Boone with not playing unless their demands about the racial make-up up the team were met. The black players had little interest in fraternizing with the white players either and Boone ignored them all. The Walt Disney Films/Jerry Bruckheimer Films production of "Remember the Titans," starring Denzel Washington was written by African American screenwriter Gregory Allan Howard (see story above). It is ostensibly about African American Coach Herman Boone and the 1971 T.C. Williams High School Titans football team in Alexandria, Va. However, it's about more than that. |
