Summary: | Members of the Daytona Beach West Rotary Club recently held a joint meeting with members of the Rotary Club Starbroek in Georgetown, Guyana, South America -- and nobody had to travel very far to attend. This videoconference meeting began with Rotarian leaders on both continents exchanging welcomes. Bill Griffin, local past district governor for Rotary, told both audiences it was a privilege for his club to work with the Georgetown, Guyana, club since working together is what Rotary is all about. Keefe said it's not uncommon to find Rotary clubs dedicated to collaborating on international grant initiatives. But, he said, it is unusual to find an international partner as committed as the Daytona Beach West Rotary club with members still willing to continue a successful project after four years. |
