Summary: | 1 There is little doubt today's extra 100m will aid lightly raced Yankee. The John Hawkes-trained gelding impressed on debut when winning at Canterbury, then made ground in the run home for a third at Randwick behind Super Smudge, which is the one to beat again. Darren Beadman, who won on Yankee at Canterbury, is back on board while Gai Waterhouse has booked stable apprentice Joshua Parr for Super Smudge. Parr's 2kg claim will prove vital and Super Smudge can control the race from the front again. O'Crikey is out to make it three wins running but the Super Smudge form looks superior. |
