Summary:Henry and [Jean Perkins] know this full well, along with the truth of Murphy's law: Anything that can go wrong will go wrong. The Perkins are, of course, the main characters in the latest show by the Milton Players Theatre Group, Funny Money by Ray Cooney. The opening scene shows Henry Perkins, played by Tim Beddoes, looking shaken up as he enters his London home. His wife, Jean, played by Beddoes's real-life wife, Sharon, can't figure out why he wasn't himself. Then he opens his briefcase. I'm always a fan of Tim Beddoes, who delivers a near flawless performance as the quick-thinking Henry. With just two acts and one setting, the play is rich in dialogue and how he's able to memorize the lines is beyond me. Whenever I watch Beddoes, I'm drawn into the play in a special way. The sea of play-goers around me disappears and it's easy to believe what's going on is real.
