Summary:The region has to assess the NRP before it does anything else. Twenty years ago, the NRP was operating on a budget of approximately $26 million. At that time they wanted an additional $2 million and was refused. Today they are operating at over $80million and they want more. What took place that has seen their budget go up 400% over that short time period? We want to know. Mr. [George Marshall] said, "It's either service or taxes"! Since we are not competing with Metropolitan Toronto, I think we are "over serviced" when it comes to the NRP. With over 750 officers on the force plus office staff, I ask you, where are we heading if we have to put up with an expenditure as large as that required by the NRP? Cutting corners there is necessary!
