Summary: | Before each of his lineout throws last weekend, Reds hooker Sean Hardman insisted on dawdling infield to have an earnest pow-wow with his fellow forwards. Here's another number to consider. In last weekend's clash between the Waratahs and the Reds there were 14 lineouts in the first half. That represented a total of more than five minutes of "live" playing time lost while the ball was, in truth, dead as the proverbial dodo. So, we could have enjoyed another nine minutes of play in that opening half if the clock had been stopped for "dead" time before the actual lineout throws and kicks for penalty goal. |
