Summary: | Six people from the deeply religious community of Bamaga and its adjoining villages of Seisia, Umagico, New Mapoon and Injinoo, were among those killed when the 19-seat Fairfield Metroliner crashed near Lockhart River Aboriginal community on Cape York Peninsula on Saturday morning. In [Cairns], a good friend and occasional boss of Rob Brady told how his mate was finally fulfilling his boyhood dream of becoming a helicopter pilot when the plane on which he was a passenger crashed into the side of a remote Queensland mountain range on Cape York. Mr Waddington said Mr Brady was a talented mechanic "who could fix anything" and would be dearly missed. |
