Summary:Dear Editor - As a resident of north Guelph I have been interested (to say the least) in the ongoing battle of the proposed development at 6&7 between Wal-Mart, Hudson Bay Corporation and the City of Guelph. I'm amazed at the amount of time and money that has been spent since 1996 over this situation. It amazes me even more that not once in this entire period of time were any citizens in north Guelph even asked how they feel about the entire plan. [Griff Morgan] claims there is no housing development in this area. There has, in fact, been development across from Bailey Park (Kathleen Avenue area) and on London Road (London Road and Edinburgh) to name a few. Mr. Morgan claims that the Zehrs store that was located on Woodlawn Road was closed for lack of customers. Although that may have been the statement from Zehrs at that time, it was in fact because of a larger store situated at Willow West Mall, which is also now closed due to the opening of yet another, larger Zehrs store at Imperial and Paisley.
