Transport Minister John Anderson yesterday signed off on the third draft of the Coolangatta Airport Master Plan, which proposes an extra 458m of runway be built within existing airport boundaries. Mr Anderson said the proposed runway extension would allow the airport to handle scheduled international services from Tokyo, Singapore, and Hong Kong with viable passenger loads.
