Summary: | "You know how normally when you hear a band you can list the bands that influenced them or that they ripped off straight away?" [Drummer Nathan Followill] told Rolling Stone. "We couldn't do it for them. They sounded like nothing I'd heard before -- really melodic, almost atmospheric." Across a handful of EPs and two albums, 2003's A House on a Street in a Town I'm From and 2005's Sleeps Like a Curse, the Panics found plenty of fans among music critics, interest from the UK and support gigs alongside the likes of Morrissey and Badly Drawn Boy. Their fan base was strong, but largely confined to the indie scene. "It's definitely stepped up a level with this record and that's been a really enjoyable process to go through because we've been working hard for a really long time." |
