Summary:Re: "Council's ban offends military" (June 27) and Steve Lukits's editorial "Councillors show their contempt" (June 27). I also noticed that the military tattoo was still on but the display and actions on tanks, cannons, etc. were cancelled, and I did some thinking that caused me a lot of pain. So I decided to write this letter with tears in my eyes. When I still remember finding myself in the middle of young men shot to pieces - arms, legs on the highway, dead men with parachutes hanging in trees - then I only have to agree with those who are disturbed by the sight of cannon, tanks, etc. in a park in peaceful, beautiful Kingston. (The tattoo, of course, can be a happy event.)
