Summary:Ontario's alcohol watchdog has concluded Ramekins restaurant violated provincial laws by serving liquor to three intoxicated diners - including Teresa Duffus - on July 2, 2001. [Geri Miller] was in her home on Sussex Boulevard at about 10:45 p.m. on July 2 when a large four-door Chrysler Concorde carrying Teresa Duffus and her husband [Tom Duffus], and [Roy Coleman] and Margaret Coleman, veered off course and slammed into the Miller home, killing Miller and Roy Coleman. The board heard evidence that Teresa Duffus was served and consumed two light beers, shared a bottle of wine with her husband and had a special coffee at Ramekins. The two toxicologists who testified agreed she had to have consumed alcohol before arriving at the restaurant that night.
