Summary: | KEDCO board were fully satisfied with his job performance. Soon after, in the spring of 2004, the city agreed to a major increase in KEDCO's funding. This was directly linked to acceptance of the corporation's business plan, which had been developed by [Steve Kelly] and his team. Immediately after the funding increase, Kelly made some excellent new KEDCO hires. The vague reasons given in the media for Kelly's public and demeaning dismissal by a 10-1 vote by the KEDCO board don't hold water for me. I am also disappointed to hear that the board isn't in a hurry to appoint a new CEO, as KEDCO's chairman of the board told The Whig ("KEDCO in no hurry to fill top job," July 24). |
