Summary: | [Adam Pendry]'s coach with the Trojans, Dean Henze, was quite impressed with his young pupil. He said Pendry's performances at the trials were some of the best in his young career and bode well for him moving into the future. Pendry finished eighth in the 1,500-m freestyle and also came in 14th in the 200-m fly. Those were the two races Pendry and Henze were concentrating on before the trials, but he also participated in the 200-m freestyle (39th), 400-m freestyle (23rd) and the 100-m fly (29th). Although his times were impressive, they were not good enough to qualify Pendry for the Commonwealth Games. That is not was the trip to Victoria was about, though. Both said it was more of a learning experience for Pendry to get a grip on what it is going to take in order to get to that next level he desires. |
