Summary: | Interview with [Dean Henze]. Profile of Dean Henze. The Trojans club has been afloat for about 20 years and many Barrie swimmers have gone on in search of bigger pools to conquer and faster swimmers to beat. However, those who leave town for postsecondary education usually return to train with Henze in the summer. The club has evolved from four swim levels to 10 that follow provincial and national guidelines based on best practices. Success in countries like Australia and Great Britain has proven that specific age-and skill-appropriate programs are more effective and motivating for the swimmer. Henze had an opportunity last year to travel to Australia to learn more about the coaching techniques used there. |
