Summary:"The Russian Super League is considered the second-best league in the world, so I'm really not taking a huge step backwards," noted [Jamie Heward], who's slated to leave Monday for St. Petersburg. "I'm treating it as an NHL job because the money is NHL money. I'm excited about the hockey aspect of it, but the (cultural) part of it is a little scary." "You hear all the stories about Russia, but I'm going to a good city," explained Heward, an eight-year NHL veteran. "I've talked to guys who played over there and had horror stories and you talk to another guy who absolutely loved it because the money was great and he was in a good city. I talked to Ross Mahoney (the Capitals' Regina-based head scout) and some other people who go over to Europe on a regular basis and they said of all the cities in Russia, that's the best one to go to. They kind of call it the jewel of the west."
