Summary:The 24-year-old soccer star from Sault Ste. Marie is making a name for himself on the professional circuit and he just took another giant step in the right direction by agreeing to a five- year contract with S.C. Zurich of the Swiss First League. Financial terms of the pact have not been determined but [Rose Young] said the average salary in the Swiss league is around $250,000 US a season. Last year, he played for Victoria Plzen of the Czech First League. He opted for Switzerland after Victoria was relegated to the Second League after placing 15th out of 16 teams. Young, who honed his skill during his playing days in the Sault with Joe Kin's Croatia soccer organization, is now one of the country's most polished players. He played university soccer in the United States for Mississippi Valley State and Metropolitan State in Denver and then spent two seasons in the United Soccer League in Michigan.
