Summary:[Brandon Beaudoin]'s mother Wendy said Brandon played in a minor hockey tournament in Detroit that day and rather than return home with the team decided to come home with his grandfather, who wasn't aware that he was supposed to pick up his grandson. Brandon stayed to watch the Lake Superior State Lakers game that night against the University of Michigan Wolverines. Vince and Alma Turco of the Canadian Sault were in Detroit for the Wolverines-Lakers game. Their son Marty is the goalie with the Wolverines. After the game they met Brandon, who was with the security people at the arena looking for a ride home. Wendy says the the Turcos looked after Brandon like he was one of their own for the rest of the weekend. It turned out to be a memorable weekend with Brandon accompanying the Turcos to a hockey game and a Detroit Red Wings practice, plus a visit to Windsor.
