Michaelis of Grafton; one daughter, Sharon Kay Caldwell of Grafton; four sons, Karl L. Michaelis Jr. of Newport News and David L. Michaelis, William E. Michaelis and Gary P. Michaelis, all of Grafton; three sisters; and two grandsons. The family will receive friends from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Sunday in Bucktrout Funeral Home, and requests expressions of sympathy take the form of contributions to Williamsburg Baptist Church, 227 Richmond Rd.
