Summary: | Nov. 26: Twenty-third Space Shuttle launch (and the first launch of Atlantis, in 1985 - Shaw, O'Connoer, Cleave, Spring, Ross, Neri- Vela, C. Walker.) Nearby [Venus] is Saturn. It's nowhere near as bright, and you'll need to wait until twilight has settled in before you can see it. It's a yellow-white starlike object in the constellation Sagittarius. In mid-November, Saturn lies just slightly to the north of Venus. Jupiter is brighter than Saturn, and shows up in the east a little bit after dark. It's in the constellation Gemini, below the stars Castor and Pollux. Although not as brilliant as Venus, Jupiter at least stays up pretty much all through the night, so by midnight it's high in the south, and toward sunrise it's over in the western sky. |
