Summary: | The Mouse Morris-trained VENALMAR, runner-up to Cooldine's stable-companion Fiveforthree in the Ballymore Properties at Cheltenham, is another exciting young horse, capable of running a very big race today. On Ladbrokes World Hurdele form from Cheltenham, the Eoin Griffintrained KAZAL and Alan King's BLAZING BAILEY set a decent standard. Another tricky customer is the Jonjo O'Neill-trained mare REFINEMENT, already successful twice at this Festival, in the champion bumper and, 12 months ago, when she proved an unlikely winner of this event. AITMATOV, also held on Cheltenham form, comes into the picture too, particularly with Noel Meade's team back in form. Don't forget his narrow defeat of Sweet Kiln in the Hatton's Grace. He's even more effective on the current better ground. It's very much a case of the old guard facing the rising stars in today's feature. And, while it's hard to knock the credentials of Blazing Bailey and [Kazal], I'm a big fan of Cooldine and give him a hesitant vote. |
