Summary: | Wairarapa Tranzit Coachlines manager Les Cockeram said revellers with a lot of alcohol in them were safety risks. They caused headaches for the 85 drivers employed for the day, and other festival- goers. Tranzit has just finished its debrief on the weekend's event and has decided on a new security plan that bars bus drivers from leaving their seat till the bus is shut down and the keys secured. "Perhaps increased security at all the vineyards in the areas where people are boarding buses would help, particularly later in the day when people are getting pretty messy," Mr Cockeram said. |
