Summary:For example, in 1997 --- under Dick Cheney's leadership --- Halliburton subsidiaries went into Iraq to do work for Saddam Hussein's regime. Now, Halliburton is back in Iraq making billions of taxpayer dollars. In both cases, the company's presence was made possible by the current vice president, and Cheney is still getting paid by Halliburton. When will we hear that the real reason we can't withdraw troops is that such corporations with politicians in their pockets can't operate in Iraq without protection? Whether it was "lying" or "fixing the facts around the policy," the [Bush] administration clearly made the decision for war with Iraq without a cautious and reasoned assessment of all the assembled data and facts. It is also obvious that the decision was made far in advance of any proven evidence of an imminent threat from Iraq. Liberals remind me of bratty children closing their eyes, sticking their fingers in their ears and chanting, "Na-na-na-na, I cannot hear you, I hate Bush, na-na-na-na, I cannot hear you, the USA is evil" over and over.
