Summary:I am concerned that [Cynthia Tucker]'s column overlooked the work of the Rev. Jesse Jackson and the Rainbow PUSH Coalition to fight homophobia and increase HIV/AIDS awareness in the black church. Rev. Jackson spent the night in an AIDS treatment center with survivors years ago. As recently as November the Rainbow PUSH Coalition observed World AIDS day by screening "Kevin's Room," a frank documentary about homophobia, AIDS and the black community. I spoke at a rally in Centennial Olympic Park about the tragedy of women dying with AIDS and how homophobia contributes to the epidemic. Unfortunately, it is extraordinarily difficult to attract media notice of these efforts, but we will continue them nevertheless. For those voting Georgian's still considering [Ralph Reed] for lieutenant governor, I urge you to take 5 quick minutes to research Reed's "longtime friend and associate" Jack Abramoff ("Reed's golf trip raises questions," Page One, June 19). Once you have completed your research and are still willing to vote for Ralph Reed, you have just cracked the code on why Reed is running for office in our state.
