Summary: | It was scary to read The Atlanta Journal-Constitution opinion reminding people that [Eric Robert Rudolph], if he is guilty, is not a folk hero but a terrorist. I hope Rudolph is not immediately put to death (creating a martyr). May he live long in captivity, a broken man who feels compelled to tell all and name names. Homegrown terrorists are as great a threat as foreign terrorists, and searches for the likes of Rudolph will enable law enforcement to increasingly violate the civil rights of innocent citizens. Homegrown terrorists are a double threat to our way of life. I am glad he was finally apprehended.
