Summary:We pleaded our case to Mr. [Pete McTier], and to (former Chief Executive Officer Roberto) Goizueta at Coca-Cola. We were ignored by Mr. McTier but did receive a "too bad for you" letter from Ingrid Saunders-Jones at Coca-Cola, including a coupon for a free liter of Coke. After hiring an attorney and fighting the Georgia Building Authority (the final recipient of the Olympia Building), we won our case but had to pay $30,000 in attorneys' fees! I will be a bitter person regarding Coca-Cola for the rest of my life. I saved the letter and the coupon to remind myself and others of what Coca-Cola had become. My husband and I are still running our business in the Olympia Building. The news that the Coca-Cola sign will be gracing that building just about makes me sick. Along those same lines, have you ever seen a train station without a clock? Check out MARTA. MARTA stations, particularly the airport's, would be a great place for Coca-Cola clocks to remind visitors and travelers "Atlanta --- the Home of Coca-Cola." A little advertising revenue to MARTA; better than those God-awful buses painted entirely in red or blue.
