Summary: | SENDING AID to the Soviets is not a new idea, obviously something within Marxist economic theory leads to catastrophe. What is new is our government's decision to send a kind of blind subsidy to support a disastrous economic system, unlike Hoover's intervention in the 1920s, which stipulated several conditions upon granting aid. It is hard to imagine how our country, which has not effectively resolved its own economic problems (and social problems), can have developed the largess required to aid the Soviets. Financially the Soviets have reaped rewards from increased oil prices, and their holds in precious metals are huge. We may be witnessing a concerted effort by the Soviet Union to inflict economic ruin upon the West through placing its own economic burden on countries whose economies are far from healthy. |
