Summary:  "I want to make sure we levy enough so that if the (district's assessed value) is more than estimated, we will get the maximum amount that we can," [Michael Shonk] said. "Had there been no tax cap, we would get about $250,000 more this year when tax caps cost us that much I'd like it if someone would review this because it's not helping the schools." Board members expressed some concern over a community aerobics class that has been taking place in the Unity East Elementary School gym. The class meets twice a week and is already scheduled until the spring. The board decided to "grandfather in" the class for this term, instead of suddenly asking for $100 and proof of insurance for every class. "The taxpayers built these buildings and the taxpayers deserve to use them," Shonk said. "But at the same time, we're the gatekeepers of these buildings and we need to be responsible."
