Summary:I was on board a 48-foot catamaran yacht with Capt. Jack Feireisen, former philosophy professor and Fulbright scholar, at the helm. Our chef was Cyndi Hardy, and the rest of the crew included my sister and a married couple from New York representing the company that provided the prize. Leaving Frenchtown Harbor was exhilarating, and everyone was in a jubilant mood. We navigated through the harbor markers, and were on our way. Jack told us we were heading to Leinster Bay, where we would secure a mooring for the night, do some snorkeling and hike to an abandoned sugar mill in the morning. Our days were spent sailing into deserted coves and inlets, places where we were the only boat. We snorkeled, then dozed on the trampoline on the front of the catamaran. The only actual tourist site we visited was the baths at Virgin Gorda, and Jack got us there very early in the morning to avoid the cruise-ship crowds.
