Summary: | Once again, the X-Men, led by Charles Xavier (Patrick Stewart), and Magneto's (Sir Ian McKellen) band of mutants, now called the Brotherhood, find themselves at odds. The Brotherhood detests the cure and vows to fight anyone who doesn't agree with them - even other mutants. New mutants, like Beast (Kelsey Grammer), Angel (Ben Foster) and Juggernaut (Vinnie Jones), have been added to the cast of characters, keeping the story from becoming too repetitive with the older mutants. Fortunately, though, all of the actors playing these older mutants reprise their roles. They include Halle Berry (Storm), Hugh Jackman (Wolverine), Rebecca Romijn (Mystique) and more. "The Last Stand" is definitely worth seeing for fans of the series, but it is undoubtedly the weakest film in the X-Men franchise. It feels as if the filmmakers were looking to make a quick dollar instead of a great X-Men movie. |
