Summary:Your article titled Thousands of children suffer from parents meth addiction said that at least 12 million Americans have tried meth and that many children are affected by exposure in the womb, contamination from toxic chemicals, explosions, fires, physical abuse, sexual abuse and neglect from parents. Children can develop disorders such as Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder and sustain long-term medical problems from exposure to drugs. The article focused mainly on the problems with methamphetamine addiction in Iowa. However, meth addiction is a major problem in West Virginia as well. I have been a social worker for the past five years and have noticed a steady increase in the number of clients who are referred for meth addiction. It is a shame when children are torn from their families and placed with strangers, and their parents continue to use drugs.
