CENTRE:The Submarines Australasia submarine that was operating in Milford Sound before a drop in wealthy American tourists visiting New Zealand sunk the venture. The same firm is now considering operating a submarine in Lake Wakatipu. ABOVE: The Earnslaw pictured on the lake in 1937.
