Summary:JERUSALEM - Israel's parliament took extraordinary security steps yesterday for a vote next week on a Gaza pullout plan expected to spark Jewish settler protests and heighten death threats against Prime Minister Ariel Sharon. Polls show most Israelis favour Mr. Sharon's plan to dismantle all 21 enclaves in occupied Gaza in 2005 as well as four of 120 in the West Bank after four years of bloodshed with Palestinians. Hardliners in Mr. Sharon's right-wing Likud party and leaders of traditionally allied religious parties believe any retreat from territories Israel captured in the 1967 Middle East war smacks of capitulation to Palestinian terrorists.
