Summary: | "Avon began 115 years ago as a foundation of economic independence for women," said Ms. [Andrea Jung], who is in Toronto this week for Avon Canada's annual meeting. "Our entire model has been built around personal relationships with our customers and that is based on trust. The power of those relationships is the key to our success and the key to the future." Although the details of the program -- tentatively dubbed My Advantage -- have yet to be finalized, the company is busy negotiating deals with several major Canadian firms, Tony Ariganello, president of Avon Canada, said yesterday. Roberta Lacey, Avon Canada's director of communications and image development, said the initiative is a natural extension of a business plan that has seen Avon's product line diversify to include such items as clothes, CDs and self-help books over the last few years. |
