Summary:Ontario brewers large and small enjoy access to over seven million beer consumers and 17,000 licensees, and pay listing fees and in- store service fees that are 30% to 50% lower than they would be in any other retail environment in Ontario. Microbrewers enjoy full access to distribution and retail systems in Ontario. Small brewers selling 305,000 cases or less per year pay lower retail service fees than their larger counterparts -- in effect, creating a level playing field for all brewers. A new listing fee schedule offering even easier entry into The Beer Store encouraged six new brewers to list within three months of introduction.
