Summary: | Mr [Dale Pattinson] said: "I was in the bath when my dad came in and shouted that the allotment was on fire. I threw some clothes on and we broke into the allotment. It was already well alight and I could see a horse locked in a stable. "The horse was on fire, it was kicking and screaming. It was just an instant reaction to try to get it out. It was awful, I had to do something. It was so hot that I burnt as soon as I got within five metres. I tried to get the door open and get the horse out, but it dropped to the floor and crashed off the door, so I had to assume it was dead and concentrate on the other animals." Mr Pattinson said: "I am just sad that one of the horses died, but at least I tried." |
